
Isazaly Mohd Isa or Zalee as he is best known was born and raised in Singapore for the first 20 years of his life and grew up on television (and radio) sets as a child actor, when he joined the "Malay Television Children Workshop" of Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, now known as MediaCorp.
After completing his primary and secondary education, he decided to pursue his passion for the graphic arts and enrolled at La Salle College of the Arts.
In 1994, he moved up to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to continue pursuing his dream. He completed the 3-years Diploma in Filmmaking and his 16mm graduation shortfilm was awarded ‘Best Film Project’ by the KODAK Worldwide Student Program of Malaysia.
Zalee became very passionate about filmmaking and explored several roles on-the-job, either as Art Director, Director Of Photography, Assistant Director, Editor and Screenwriting. He learned the art and science of filmmaking during his journey that later became his full-time career and by 2000, he setup his own production company, Kino-i, with two of his film school juniors. They were among the earliest filmmakers in Malaysia to embrace digital filmmaking. They put their knowledge and skills to various jobs ranging from minuscule budget music videos, shortfilms to big budget feature films and documentaries.
From 2003 he has to trained students, government and corporate bodies, TV stations, film professionals and individuals in Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei, on working with Final Cut Pro and telling stories using the digital medium. In 2017 he became one of two Blackmagic Design Certified Trainers for Davinci Resolve 14 in Malaysia.
Zalee is currently endorsed as a Professional-Tier in “Editing” by the Content Creative Industry Guild of Malaysia (CCIG) and also a National Certified Film/Video Editor by Malaysia’s Ministry Of Human Resource and has received his Certification as Certified Trainer for Blackmagic Design.
