Poser Figure Artist comes loaded with virtual models, content and props. Choose from photorealistic male, female and child figures, plus a rich collection of poses, expressions, hairstyles, clothing, props and backgrounds to help you work with the human form to create figure art.

Control Composition

Use perspective lines, hip/shoulder guides and vanishing points to compose your scene in 3D, then adjust camera angles and use lighting effects and shadows to create realistic environments for your virtual figure.

Artists can create finished figure art in many different styles, from photorealistic to pastel, charcoal, or pen and ink, or use your virtual model for painting or sculpture.

Poser Figure Artist can be used to create high quality finished figure art. Artists can use the scenes they create not only for artistic reference, but can also render them as finished artwork in many different styles, including pastel, charcoal, pen and ink, cartoon and photorealism.

Poser Figure Artist uses the same powerful rendering engine as Poser. For final renders, the FireFly render engine supports Image Based Lighting, Ambient Occlusion, and many more features for generating breathtaking photorealistic images.

Sketch Designer, a separate dialog within Poser Figure Artist, provides many preset styles, such as colored pencil, soft charcoal or pen and ink. Comprehensive control sliders let you alter the render settings the way you choose. For example, you can change the length of a pencil stroke or the direction of cross-hatching, just to name two. You can create and save your unique sketch and apply it to any figure or scene you create.

When exporting rendered images (for example, in PNG, PSD or TIFF formats), Poser Figure Artist will write an alpha channel to preserve transparency for easy compositing in photo editing software or desktop publishing applications.

Virtual Models

Poser Figure Artist’s virtual models can replace wooden mannequins and live models. Virtual models never tire or change position, and are always available so you can return to your model anytime and continue your work.

Poser Figure Artist can be used to stage and pose various 3D male, female and child digital models. These models can be used to visualize the human figure in different poses and under different lighting conditions. Artists can choose a model, apply or create an appropriate pose, and then use traditional painting, drawing or sculpting methods to create fine art.

The 3D figures included in Poser Figure Artist are not only highly realistic, but also bend and pose like real people. In fact, an artist can fine tune a pose down to the smallest detail, including adjusting hands and fingers individually as needed. Muscles are accurately represented, as are skin tones that can display such subtleties as bristles or freckles on a face..

Figure Artist provides a digital classroom so you can discover more, better understand figure art, learn about the 3D perspective, vanishing points, lighting, shadows and more.

Poser Figure Artist serves as a valuable asset when learning to draw or paint the human form. In addition, the included PDF tutorial and reference artwork by famous masters, which can be accessed via the Tutorial room within the application, provide supplemental instructional tools for artists at any experience level.

Poser Figure Artist offers other visualization aids as well. Artists can use on-screen guides within the program. One guide shows shoulder/hip relationships, which are important with some poses. Another guide displays head lengths to help with proportions. There are guides to show vanishing lines and the horizon line. All of these tools are interactive and appear only when you need them.
