Carbon Coder PEC - Capture and Convert

Built on Carbon Coder PE's foundation, Carbon Coder PEC is Rhozet's Desktop transcoding and capture application, with the ability to capture video directly to your desired formats. It includes RS-422 based device control and supports DirectShow based capture devices for easy ingest connectivity.

Carbon Coder PEC features a wide range of format support for video capturing and processing directly to your desired formats. This eliminates both the need to spend time on and to occupy storage capacity while capturing to an intermediate file before transcoding. Like Carbon Coder PE, Carbon Coder PEC will also connect to your Carbon Server based Farm and submit content for processing directly to your transcoding cluster, making it the perfect capture station for small and large-scale installations.

Saves space and time

Exchange your single solutions products for Carbon Coder PEC. With our RS-422 based device control, you can take your file from tape and transcode it into several different formats in one step; you can for example transfer your tape into both a QuickTime and a Windows Media® file ready to be used in internet applications. In addition, Carbon Coder PEC can be used in conjunction with a Carbon Farm. With this workflow, your ingest station will not be occupied with the actual transcoding – as soon as the ingest is finished, your machine is ready for the next ingest job while your Carbon Farm takes on the time consuming task of encoding your footage.

Besides our power packed desktop application, Rhozet adds its Carbon Coder PEC Wizard. With the wizard, a few simple clicks is all it takes to ingest your video and transcode it into your desired format. This single-click crash recording, without device control, allows you to capture from a live source or from an inexpensive deck.

For added convenience, Carbon Coder PEC allows you to create a watch folder. With a simple copy operation, files places into a watch folder are automatically transcoded into your preselected format. You can set up a permanent watch folder for transcoding multiple jobs into the same format. Or, you can create a temporary folder for transcoding files to meet the needs of the moment.
